This Year’s Election is One for the Books: President Donald Trump Refuses Defeat and Continues to Fight for this Election

Joe Biden and Donald Trump are fighting for this election day after day in 2020 in the United States because they both don’t want each other to win and want to be the president because they both think they are the best candidate. Also, Donald Trump thinks the election was rigged and is doing recounts because of it. To prove that they both think they are the best candidate, Donald Trump said, “I WON THE ELECTION IN A LANDSLIDE, but remember, I only think in terms of legal votes, not all of the fake voters and fraud that miraculously floated in from everywhere! What a disgrace!” This shows him refusing defeat and refusing to accept the fact he lost by spreading false information throughout Twitter and to US citizens. But, Joe Biden also thinks the same thing and that Trump should give up because he is the rightful winner. For example, Joe Biden said on Twitter, “America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: Trump diversity training ban challenged by Elizabeth Warren, DemocratsI will be a President for all Americans – whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.” This shows that both candidates think they have the election when in reality we still haven’t actually figured out who has won. For some background information on this election, 45th president Donald Trump and presumed 46th president Joe Biden are at each other’s throats about this election because each of them wants and feel like they need to win for the sake of our country. Also, each candidate has a very strict following, which also makes it even more stressful because of how many angry people there are in the country right now. So, this election has been very stressful because Trump is angry that Biden might win and Biden is scared that Trump still has a chance to win. They also continue to bash each other on Twitter and other social media/interviews. Overall, I just think this has been something that no one will forget because of the constant things happening and more updates. One thing is for certain, this election is far from over for many different people. For more information, visit https://www.npr.org/sections/live-updates-2020-election-results.
