Every year, Penns Valley nominates a few girls from the senior class to participate in the homecoming court. This year, the Penns Valley Area High School nominated ten senior girls for homecoming court. After door decorating, spirit week, and an intense interview, Katie Romig was chosen as homecoming queen. But who is Katie Romig?

Katie Romig lives in Centre Hall and attended Centre Hall elementary. Katie grew up alongside her three siblings, Charlie, Jackson, and Ellie. Additionally, she has a dog named Murphy who everyone loves. Katie is involved with the school in many ways. She enjoys playing for the Penns Valley varsity soccer team as well as the basketball team. Not only that, but she participates in many clubs such as the student council, and is even a member of the class office. In the future, Katie plans to attend college studying anthropology and Latin. Overall, she is a prime example of a well-rounded student at Penns Valley.

Throughout the week, Katie participated in the many traditions of the homecoming court. One of the activities she excelled at was a door decorating. Katie’s door featured the theme of Snow White while incorporating the history teachers as the dwarves. Along with that, she participated in spirit week including dressing up as Woody from Toy Story. Additionally, Katie placed second in the homecoming court game at the pep rally where she played human ringtoss.

Along with Katie, there were two other senior girls that were recognized. The first runner-up was Kailen Winkelblech, and the second runner-up was Brianna Bressler.  All girls had a fun time with the week and the overall homecoming festivities.
