“Spring Fling? What’s that?”

That might be some people’s reactions when they first hear about our junior high dance at Penns Valley and it was for some of our 7th graders. Spring Fling was first supposed to be a Valentine’s dance for junior high but recently switched to a seasonal celebration. This year the dance is on Saturday, May 6th starting at 7 pm and ending at 9 pm. It will take place in the old gym and semi-formal attire is required. Snacks are provided by the student council members and the price will vary depending on the item. Tickets will be sold in the morning and during lunch in the cafeteria, so if you plan on going bring 5 dollars to school and save yourself the hassle later. If you miss the opportunity to buy them beforehand, tickets are also available at the door.

Being new to the High school this year, 7th graders are just recently being introduced to Spring Fling. When asked if they were planning on attending Raynee Davis and Kyleigh Brown both said, “Yes, we are going to Spring Fling.” We talked to some of the JH boys and almost all of them said that they were not going. Landyn Ripka specifically responded, “It’s for gross couples.” The reason most guys aren’t going could be possibly because they feel like school dances are for couples, but most of the girls we talked to are going with their friends.

No matter what, you should feel welcome to come to the Spring Fling on Saturday. Snacks are there for everyone to enjoy and music will be provided by Mr.Carty. A photo booth is set up as an option for anyone interested while they are taking a break. Get in the Spring spirit, the year is almost up, so let’s celebrate together and remember it’s a great day to be a ram.
