Rihanna’s Super Bowl Surprise

Leah Meyer, Journalist

This year’s Super Bowl halftime performance received a variety of opinions on the overall execution. Some believe that Rihanna did an incredible job and that this year had one of the best half time performances. Others will argue that they were disappointed that there were no special guests or over-the-top props and special effects.

This halftime performance was Rihanna’s first live performance in seven years! Rihanna dressed in all red attire while here back up dancers wore all white snowsuit-looking outfits. The singer performed a 13 minute, energetic set with a firework display and levitating stages that moved up and down as she sang. The artist performed some of her greatest hits such as; “Where Have You Been,” “Only Girl,” “Umbrella,” and “Diamonds.” And she did all of it… PREGNANT! After the set ended, Rihanna’s representative confirmed that Rihanna is pregnant with her second child! Looks like there was a special guest after all!

Rihanna (Robyn Rihanna Fenty NH) is a Barbadian singer, actress, and businesswoman. Rihanna’s partner is American rapper, record producer, and record executive, A$AP Rocky. They have been together since 2020 and had their first child together in 2022. They have yet to reveal this baby boy’s name, but claim they have changed it a few times.

The Super Bowl (LVII) was played by the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. It was the fourth Super Bowl hosted by the Phoenix metropolitan area.
