Tuesday night, September 19th, the Lady Rams Volleyball team fell short of Bald Eagle. The Lady Rams put up a hard fight, even taking the second set along the way.
Team captain and senior libero Maddie Butler shared her thoughts on the night, “It was a tough fight. We definitely could have played better and produced a different result. I wish we had a second chance of playing them again this year. Hopefully, next year’s varsity team will pull through with a win!”
The scores of the night ended (16,25) (27,25) (13,25) (22,25). Leading in kills for the night was Ella Hadley with 20 and Kendall Guisewhite with 6. Following in digs is Maddie Butler with 22 and Ella Aston with 14.
Last year the Lady Rams were able to take a win against Bald Eagle for the first time in 8 years, beating them both home and away. With high hopes of continuing the win streak against the team, the girls fell short. Spectator and parent of senior outside Kendall Guisewhite shares, “The game was off to a rough start, and I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to pull through. Surprisingly for the second set, it looked as if a whole new team took the court. All of us parents on the sidelines had high hopes the girls would be able to pull through a win, but our playing was just too inconsistent to do so.”
Despite the hard loss, the Lady Rams have had a successful season so far, now reigning 6-3. Their next game will be on Monday September 25th at home against Central.
