Every year the Lady Rams soccer team set aside a game for a good cause. On September 28th, the Lady Rams hosted Chesnut Ridge for their Hope Fund game.
In the first half of the game, Elle Dinges scored 2 goals within the first 10 minutes, rocketing the ball into the left corner and up top. Blowing by Chesnut Ridges’s defense, the Lady Rams kept racking up points.
Within the first half, the Lady Rams got 3 more goals. An own goal off a Lady Lion brings the score up to 3-0. Then at the end of the first half, Olivia Homan and Abby Stitzer come in with 2 clutch goals. The score at the end of the first half was brought up to 5-0.
Going into the second half, it was up and down the field until Taylor Bumgardner had a big touch to slide the ball into the right corner. Running the score up to 6-0. Almost right after, Scotty Dinges slid in yet another goal, making the score 7-0. Then at the end of the second half, Miley Hubler smacked in another one.
The final score of the game was 8-0. The Lady Rams showed up on a day that was dedicated to/for all the hope and good things in the valley. The Lady Rams raised $850 through raffles and t-shirt sales.
The Lady Rams record now is 5-8 from a loss against Bishop Guilfoyle(10/3) and a win against Huntington(10/5). The Lady Ram’s upcoming games are on Monday, October 9 against Bald Eagle at home, Tuesday, October 10 against Philipsburg-Oceola at home, and Thursday, October 12 at Hollidaysburg.
