Here at Penns Valley the food selection is limited, with the good items slimming down every year here are my top three pics for the best foods that have been served so far this year at Penns Valley.
I am going to start this list with an item that has been featured on school menus since I was a young buck. Walking tacos are the first to make this list. I think it is fair to put them on the list because ever since I have given these a chance they have never failed me. Consistency is a big part of this list and if the lunch ladies can pump food out consistently it will make this list.
The second item on this list is the famous and rare buffalo chicken alfredo. This lunch item makes the list because of the creamy sauce that can be combined with the perfectly cooked noodles. This product is also very consistent and is made very well every time. I think another aspect that helps to make this an item on my list is that it is a rare lunch item. This means that kids will look forward to this item being on the lunch menu.
Lastly, we have a tie between the General Tso’s chicken bowl and the popcorn chicken bowl. These two items help to balance one another out. You get the spice from the General Tso and the savory and salty from the popcorn chicken bowl. It’s all about what you are feeling on the day. The only downside to this menu item is the hair that can be found in the mashed potatoes. “I was caught off guard by the massive hair in my tatoes,” Danin says.
All in all Penns Valley has some pretty good lunches, but there is always room for improvement. Big thanks to the cafeteria staff who helps to make the food every morning to feed the school.
