On Thursday, October 5th, the Lady Rams Volleyball team won yet another game. After a long draw-out 5-set match at Bishop Carrol, the Lady Ram’s record sits at 11-3. It was a long, tiring, and hot night in the Bishop Carrol gym. The girls had to dig deep to pull out this needed win. Defensive Specialist and Right-side hitter Kendall Guisewhite shares, “We started out rough the first two sets but slowly started to show up. We finally found some consistency and took control of the game.” The Lady Rams weren’t going to travel all that way to leave with a loss. Even though it was Bishop Carrol’s senior night, the girls still showed up and shut them down with no mercy.
The scores of the night consisted of 23-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-21, and finishing off with 15-10. Ella Hadley held the highest kills with 17, with Moriah Hurd close behind her at 13. Next up in digs was Maddie Butler with 30, Ella Aston with 25, and Kendall Guisewhite with 24. JV player Sydnie Dalton shares her perspective as a fan, “It was a very resilient night. The girls showed perseverance and never got down no matter the score.” This was another big win for the girls, holding a winning streak since their loss against Bald Eagle on September 19th. The Lady Rams now sit at 4th place in district rankings, hoping to beat some of those ranked ahead this week. The girls will have 3 tough games next week against Hollidaysburg, Huntingdon, and Forest Hills.
Their senior night will take place Thursday, October 12th, against Forest Hills. The girls have strong hopes to keep the winning streak alive.
