Growing up we all went trick or treating, whether it was around your neighborhood or at Trunk or Treat in Centre Hall. If you have not heard of trick or treating it is when people of all ages dress up and walk around neighborhoods knocking on doors and asking for candy. Some Halloween costumes I wore when I was younger were Cinderella, Elmo, a butterfly, and many more. There are lots of different Halloween costume ideas online, so if you are stumped on what to be there are lots of resources to give you ideas. Mallory Stover says, “My favorite part of trick or treating is being able to walk around and see friends in their costumes and get candy from stranger’s houses.”
Another activity you can enjoy on Halloween is pumpkin carving. One of my favorite things to do during fall is carving pumpkins and roasting the pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin carving is a great way for people to show their creativity while also creating a unique fall decoration. Back in the 19th century people would carve turnips, beets, potatoes, and eventually pumpkins.
A third thing to try this Halloween is haunted houses. If you enjoy getting scared a good place to visit is Spook Haven, a haunted house in Mill Hall PA. Spook Haven offers a lot of different attractions including, a haunted corn maze and a haunted house. In the haunted house, there are characters dressed up to scare you. As you walk through this haunted house these characters can grab and poke you as much as they want.
So, if you are bored or don’t have something to do on Halloween, I totally recommend trying some of these activities. Have a happy Halloween!
