Over this past week, the Lady Rams basketball team has kicked off their 2023-2024 season! With 3 games, 2 away, and 1 home, they hold a record of 2-1. Scotty Dinges, starting senior, describes the first week, “This week was crucial to starting the development of our team and its chemistry. I believe we have improved in just the short time on the court so far. I can’t wait to see how far we go this year!” The Rams first game took place on December 1, losing a tight game to Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy 52-49. Following their first home game and win, the Rams took on Mount Union with a score of 65-22! Finally, the Rams took the bus again to face a tough opponent, Tyrone, but that didn’t stop them. The Rams pulled out a win of 45-40. The Rams will face their fourth opponent, Westmont Hilltop, on the home court this Friday.
As the audience watches the team’s success, they are just as anxious as the team for the rest of the season. A fan at their first home game, Ella Hadley shares, “As the night went on I could see the trust on the court growing, something you need in a team sport.” The team has lots of fan support ranging all over from students to adults. Many are excited to see the growth flourish and watch the younger players develop. There is always entertainment in this fast-paced game, keeping you on the edge of your seat and far from boredom. I along with many others can’t wait to watch more games from this team and see how far they can go in the playoff realm.
