Coach Robert Irwin looks to expand the Rams basketball season. After an 0-6 start to the Rams season, they have bounced back winning 5 of their last 6 games. They will take on Clearfield tonight and look to expand their record to 6-7.
You can see how the Rams are performing throughout the season here.
I was able to speak to Colin Niewinski about their season and he had this to say,” We did have a rocky start. I thought it was going to be just like last year where we only won a few games but now the season is looking up and I am excited to keep playing with a shot at districts.” Despite the first losses, the Rams are a hopeful team full of talent from stars like Jackson Romig, Colin Niewinksi, and Sophmore prodigy Fletcher Ironside.
They currently sit at 14th in the Laurel Highlands conference at 4-6 in their respective conference. This means that the Rams are actually in a good position to go to districts provided they win the majority of the rest of their games.
Ever since coach Terry Glunt stepped down as the Varsity Boy’s basketball coach there have been high expectations for Coach Robert Irwin as Terry was very competitive and was renowned throughout the Penns Valley and basketball communities for his winning. This is a step in the right direction for Coach Irwin as he is building back from last year when they finished 3-19. This shows signs of life for the Penns Valley boys basketball team.
