What is the El Nino you may ask? Well it is a big winter storm from the south coming up through the country. Many people have lots of stress about the winter snow. Reporters have been commenting about the storm since Thanksgiving of 2023.

Many people have been affected by this winter storm already. To begin, we had eight inches of snow last week. Lots of people had to shovel and plow snow on their day off. Some people got more snow than others. For example, in Buffalo New York there were about five to six feet of snow on the ground, causing people attending the Steelers and Bills game to shovel spots for their seats, and a fun fact about the game is, wherever people could shovel to a seat, is where they could sit. While lots of people are bothered by the massive amounts of snow, many people have fun in the El Nino. People do this by building snow castles, having snow ball fights, building snowmen, skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and doing donuts in their car.

The El Nino storms are caused by warmer than average sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean. The potential for the storm was seen all the way back in April of 2023, while the actual storm didn’t begin until January of 2024. The author cannot get out to go have a snow ball fight and build a snowman because he has been too busy shoveling at his house and other local elderly neighbors houses within his community.
