Penns Valley has taken a new approach to Homecoming this year by making it disco-themed. Starting Monday 9/23 we will be having our annual homecoming spirit week that will be disco-themed apart from the blue and white spirit day. The spirit days are as follows: Monday 9/23 – 70’s hair day (wear a 70’s themed hairstyle), Tuesday 9/24 – Flower power (wear all your favorite flower patterns), Wednesday 9/25 – wacky neon (Come to school dressed in neon), Thursday 9/26 – 70’s best (wear your best outfit from the 70’s), Friday 9/27 – Blue and white (wear all your favorite blue and white gear). The annual homecoming football game will be held on Friday 9/27 where the Penns Valley Rams will take on Clearfield and the homecoming king and queen will be announced.
The homecoming court is as follows. Queen nominees : Paige Auman, Anna Bressler, Taylor Bumgardner, Cecilia Falls, Audrey Kerstetter. King nominees: Allem Auman, Owyen Corman, Landon Hess, Alex Parsons, Zachary Rummel. The King and Queen nominees will work incredibly hard this week to prepare for the court. Some responsibilities include interviews, door decorating, etc. “All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a committee of four teachers, called the Homecoming Court Teacher Committee” – Tarence Green.
The Homecoming parade will be held at the Grange fairgrounds on Thursday 9/26 starting at 6:30 pm. The parade will consist of lots of school spirit through all the floats of the Penns Valley fall sports teams and performances by cheerleaders, flaggers, and the Penns Valley Marching Band. Lastly, the Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday night from 7-10 pm. This will be a semi-formal event for grades 7-12 and there will be a $5 attendance fee at the door. The dance will also be disco-themed so be ready to have some fun! All school rules will apply at these events.
