The Penns Valley Football team had a battle this past Friday night against the Summerset Golden Eagles, a high-scoring game that ended with a score of 42-56. The Rams fall to 0-8 on the season with their next game this Friday at home against the Golden Eagles of Tyrone.
The game didn’t start well for the Rams as they were down 14-0 to end the first quarter. To start the second the Eagles scored once again to bring the score to 21-0, however, the Rams finally responded with a slant touchdown on the 7-yard line from Colby Miller to Fletcher Ironside. The Golden Eagles responded right back with a quick score, making the score 28-7. It was score after score for the rest of the half, after the Golden Eagles’ touchdown, the Rams answered right back with a 19-yard touchdown from Fletcher Ironside. Just as the Rams were right back in the game, Somerset took the kickoff right back for a score. To end the half Ironside took a slant 79 yards to the house ending the half with a score of 35-21. The second half was more of the same, little defense and lots of scoring. Three Rams found the end zone in the second half. Those are Spencer Althouse, Koltin Shawver, and Fletcher Ironside. Spencer Althouse had this to say about the game, “It was a battle and I think it showed that we have gotten better and we can score with any team”.
The Rams look to bounce back this Friday, BE THERE AND BE LOUD!
