Do you like to play tennis? Do you want to be part of a team? Well, then tennis is the right sport for you! Jr. High doesn’t currently have a tennis team, but we can work together to change that.
Tennis is always overlooked as a sport but it teaches valuable skills and life lessons. It teaches you about accuracy, stamina, and teamwork. Tennis is also a great sport for learning precision and working on your hand-eye coordination.
Serena Williams is a famous tennis player who always explains that tennis isn’t about just playing the game, it’s about working hard and not giving up. She states, “I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.” This not only explores the world of being a good sport, but also explains that if we work together, we can start a tennis team. No matter how many times we get turned down we can keep trying until we succeed.
Did you know that the original tennis balls were white and made out of leather? Tennis has lots of fun and interesting facts that people have never thought about. For example, the longest tennis match lasted over 11 hours and spanned over 3 days. Another fact is that tennis is easy to learn, but it’s hard to fully understand/master.
