The Penns Valley Boys’ Basketball team kicks off the 2024-25 season next Tuesday, December 3rd, against the Golden Eagles of Tyrone Area High School. The Rams are returning four starters from last season: Carter Ironside, Fletcher Ironside, Carson Webster, and Spencer Althouse. They will travel to Tyrone, West Branch, and then Westmont Hilltop, all three of these teams defeated the Rams last season and are looking like mighty contenders. Westmont Hilltop were the District Champions last season and even made a run in the playoffs. The Rams consist of 15 players. There are 2 Seniors, 8 Juniors, 2 Sophomores, and 3 freshmen that make up this young Rams Squad.
Here are a couple of words from members of the team, Spencer Althouse a returning letterman had this to say about the upcoming season, “I think we have gotten better this offseason, I think we are a different team than we were last year and I think a lot of teams are underestimating us and we can be a team that surprises everyone in this league. I’m just really excited for this and I’m just ready to compete for that District Championship”. To add to that Carter Ironside had this to say, “I just want to win, I think we can show our offseason improvement and show these other teams this isn’t just another easy Win on there schedule”.
