When the Weather starts getting cold, what do you do? Most students and staff hate winter because of the cold or when the snow gets muddy. I want to change that.
What winter activities are there?
Winter Activities can change depending on how much snow you get or if it’s outside or inside. Some Outside activities are skiing/snowboarding, playing in the snow, horseback riding, and 4H exporters. Some Inside activities are basketball, wrestling, movie nights, or game nights/trivia nights, and also reading books. How can I get into the sports or the clubs? Well, it depends on what activities you like to do!
What are the Pros and Cons of Outside Winter Sports/ Clubs?
For the outside activities, I interviewed many of my classmates. Ski/snowboarding: If you want to join the club, it is named Ski Club. I interviewed Kali Smith for her pros and cons about the sport. She said, “Going down the big hills and jumping the jump make it fun for me.” The cons she said were “when it’s icy on the slopes and when you get hurt.” In my opinion, the pros of riding horses are you get to bond with horses and you can make friends, and the cons are falling off and almost having a 2000-pound animal roll over you, or losing horses. Another sport is Football, one of the football players Easton Freed, his pros he said “You can get strong and fast, tackling from football, and the cons he said were you can get hurt most of the time, you have to go to practice.
What are the pros and cons of Indoor Winter Sports/Clubs?
Cheerleading is also a winter sport. I interviewed Amira Krom, and she said her pros about the sport are “doing stunts and making friends.” Her cons were “having her hair up.” For wrestling, I interviewed Carter Brubaker. He said, “My favorite part about wrestling is strengthening and conditioning, and my least favorite is having to go to practice.” I then interviewed one of our junior high boys’ basketball players, Rylan Alegeretto, and talked about his pros of Basketball: getting Conditioned, athletic, and friends with players on the team, Rylan’s cons were if you are not good at you won’t play. The next activity I interviewed for was Game/Trivia Night; the one student I asked was Piper Frank. Her pros are that she gets to hang out with her friends and family and have fun yelling at each other a messing around the way, her cons are that sometimes her friends and family spend too much time on their games and miss their bedtime.
Winter and fall are great seasons to play sports either inside or outside. All the sports in these paragraphs have been in the school sports for a very long time.
