On January 4th, 2025 the press box was blown off of Beaver Stadium with controlled explosives, with hundreds of fans watching. This is part of a $700 million project to make Beaver Stadium better for football goers. The press box was originally built in 1959 and has been there ever since. The press box was in good shape but needed to be updated.
The project includes adding club seating, suites, a new press box, a broadcast facility, concession stands, and restrooms. There will also be new facilities for food services, and this project will make the stadium better for not only the people but also the people working there. Expanding the space will create more room for people to come and watch games during the season.
The project overall will help with the capacity and flow of people during the football season. There will be a lot of options for getting to the new seating and press box. There will be other renovations besides the press box and other things. The other projects consist of the expansion of gates, new field lighting, and improved winterization to allow events to happen in the winter months. There will be a new welcome center for people to go to while also using others.
Overall, the project is going to improve the Beaver Stadium and will provide new updates. During the football season, it brings in a lot of people and doing this construction will expand and be able to have a bigger capicity of people to be able to sit and watch the football games.
