I would like to start off by saying that my media journey began in 7th grade. I decided to take Media 1 and see what it consisted of. Some of my friends were also in that class, so we were all learning together. Mr. Farley began to teach us all we needed to know about media and how to film the announcements for the school. We learned how to write articles, how to use different camera angles, how to film short segments, etc.
I would say 7th grade me loved being in media class and being able to learn something new. I learned to make the announcement, and I had a really good group to make it with. We filmed all kinds of things for the school and wrote a lot of articles for the Rambling Ram. My media journey continued, and then I had it in senior high and began to do the announcements once again, but this time we did not have as much help as we did in 7th grade. We were older and could be on our own, so we did a lot of segments to promote things happening in the school. We focused on expectations around the school.
Flash forward to now, this is my senior year, and I have been involved in the announcements and media most of my school year. This year, for media 2, there are 6 of us, which is smaller than usual. We are more independent and mostly focus on the announcements, but we create and do big things. I would say that we somewhat run the school because we make the announcements and inform everyone of what is happening, especially if there are important events going on. We are all seniors and are well-known because we are on the announcements every day informing the students. We have done so many fun things and activities, and there is more to come from us. This year is almost over, and this will be my last media class ever. There is so much more to come before the school year ends.
