On Tuesday, October 28th, 2025. The Penns Valley Lady Rams faced off against the Bald Eagle Area Eagles for the District 6 quarterfinals. This was the second time these two teams faced off against each other this season. The Rams lost the first game in three sets, but they were on their revenge tour. After beating Philipsburg Osceola in three sets. The game was held at Bald Eagle and had an amazing crowd turnout, with fans from both sides coming to support. The Penns Valley student section showed out and cheered on their team for the entire game. Although the game did not turn out in the Rams’ favor, they still fought hard and put up a good fight.
The Lady Rams fell to a score of 25-8 in the first set. Paige Johnson, the setter and one of the captains, said, “The first set did not go how we wanted it to, but we knew if we wanted to win, we had to step it up.” Step it up, they did. The Rams won the second set 25-17. This set created a tempo and a rhythm for the next one. After a hard battle, the Rams fell once again in the third set with a score of 25-19. The fourth set was all or nothing; if the Eagles won this set, they won the game. If the Rams won, they would force it into a fifth set, where the winner would take all.
The fourth set was definitely one to watch. It was back and forth for the majority of the set. No one could tell who was going to win this one. That was until the Rams pulled ahead and gained a nice lead. The Rams won the fourth set with a score of 25-20, sending the game into a fifth set where it was win or go home.
The Rams fell to a score of 15-8 in the fifth set, ending their season. Johnson said, “It didn’t end the way we wanted it to, but we fought hard and were very competitive. That was a great way to end the season. It may have been sad, but it was one heck of a game.” Although it may not have ended the way the Rams wanted they had a great season. Ending with a record of 13-8, a big improvement from the year before.
