With Powderpuff football just around the corner, excitement is building, not just for the players on the field but also for the much-anticipated Powderpuff cheerleading performance. Most of us enjoy watching the performance, not many question the effort, coordination, and time that goes into making something great like this.
To get a closer look at this, we spoke with Kyle Conrad, a member of this year’s junior powderpuff cheer team.
Are you excited? “Definitely,” said Conrad, “it’s something we’ve all been looking forward to, and we hope to make the performance a fun time and memorable experience for everyone.”
Why do you want to participate? “It’s the spirit of the entire school,” Kyle observed. “Powderpuff is something that brings everyone together as one, and it’s a chance for us to have fun and show our appreciation for the teams.”
What do you think cheerleading brings to the event? “People in the audience enjoy seeing their friends performing in something that’s not expected,” he said.
How do you feel your performance motivates people for next year? “I hope that many more people will join,” he said, “It’s just meant to be fun, people shouldn’t take themselves too seriously. And I feel that if people see us having so much fun, they’ll want to join next year.”
What kind of routine do you have in store? “I think that we’re going to make fools out of ourselves,” he confessed. “We’d much prefer to get everyone laughing than worrying about hard stunts,”
As Powderpuff creeps up on us, it sounds like a good time will be had for all on the field, at least during halftime.
