The Need for the Bleed

The Need for the Bleed

Donating blood can seem scary, but donating is worth it. Donating can help those who need it to continue on with their life as you do yours. The people; doctors, and nurses; helping patients who need blood to live, have a tough time keeping the worry of even having blood out of their heads. Blood is something that can’t be produced by a lab, they need people like you to donate. Here is some information about giving blood, to help you make an informed decision on doing good for the community.

The Key Club will be hosting a blood drive on October 16, 2019. This will be an all-day event, you can sign up to come during any time of the school day if you are 16 years or older, you can also let your parents know. People from the community are allowed to come into the drive and donate blood as well. An important note if you are in 11th grade you will not be able to donate blood during the first two hours of the blood drive.

If you will be donating blood on October 16th, 2019 here are some things to keep in mind. Remember to eat a good breakfast or at least have some food in your system before you give blood. Giving blood can drain your energy and eating food beforehand can help you feel better after your donation. This blood drive costs nothing, it is free to donate blood and help save a life. In fact, if you donate blood, there are snacks and drinks provided. So if you are trying to decide if you should donate or not, a reason other than that you are saving a life is you get free food.

Key Club’s goal for this blood drive is to get 4o people signed up to donate blood. Help Key Club reach its goal by signing up! To sign up talk to Key Club advisor Mary-Beth Amy, in room 516, across from the Foods room. Remember to let the people of the community know that they too can donate and save a life! If you would like more information check out the American Red Cross website. The need for the bleed is real and you can help! Donate October 16th, 2019.
