The Bellefonte Raiders get wrecked again by the Penns Valley Rams! Both team’s defense stole the show Friday Night at Bellefonte. Penns Valley opened the game just 24 seconds after the opening kick off took place with a pass from Aaron Tobias to Stephen Ripka. The Rams then got on the scoreboard again in the second quarter with a pass from Aaron Tobias to Tanner Ilgen with an 8-yard run. This allowed the Rams to take a 14-0 lead. The Red Raiders finally got on the scoreboard three minutes later when junior quarterback Ethan Rossman kept the ball on 4th-and-2 for a 7-yard touchdown run, cutting the Penns Valley lead to eight after the Rams blocked the extra point.

Bellefonte had a second opportunity to get on the board just before halftime, down to the Penns Valley 4 yard line with only 7 seconds left on the clock. Rossman tried to connect with senior running back C.J Funk in the back of the end zone on the next play, but number 27, Austin Fisher broke up the connection with an interception to help the Rams take a 14-6 lead into the next half.

Both team’s offense could not get a play into the second half.

Bellefonte head coach Shanon Manning said after the game that his team’s offense needs to be better.

“We’ve got to score more points,” he said. “Until we can consistently go out there and (score) against an elite defense, we’re going to have some problems.”

Manning took the blame for some of the issues.

“I’ve got to do a much better job of preparation,” he said. “I’ve got some things I need to clean up.” According to Centre Daily Times Article.

Both team’s played an amazing strongly defense game.

Penns Valley will travel to Ebensburg to play Bishop Carroll on Friday, October 11th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
