Hannah Montminy, a starter for Penns Valley Girls basketball team draining a three.

The Penns Valley Girls Varsity Basketball team has had a memorable 2019- 2020 season. They had a great season because the girls got to build new connections with the coaches and they had a strong senior class to show the younger classmen what the program is really about. The team’s overall record was 10-12 with their league record being 7-7. They will be playing in their first round of district playoff game against Mount Union which will be held in the ram dome on Monday, February 17th at 7 pm. Mount Union girl’s basketball team has a record of 6-8.

When asked about the upcoming district playoff game Head Coach Terrance Green said “We are excited. We’ve worked all season long to get to this point. This was one of our season goals, to qualify for districts AND host a home playoff game. We came into this season with some unfinished business that we needed to take care of. Now, it’s time to take care of it.”  I also got to interview Hannah Montminy, who is a varsity starter in both basketball and soccer. She scored 1,000 points in basketball and broke a school record for points in soccer. I asked her to explain her season, and she said “it was a season that I will cherish with close friends and teammates. I will miss it next year.”

Don’t forget to come out and support your  Lady Rams on Monday night at 7 PM. We’ll see at the ram dome be sure to wear your PV gear and cheer loud and proud. Go Rams!
