Quarantine in Pennsylvania can get pretty boring. Quarantine has caused many Pennsylvanians to fall into boredom. Well, what if I told you that there are many safe and affordable day trips to take in Pennsylvania! Below is a list of fun day trips to take with your family, or by yourself!

To begin this list, Gettysburg National Park is a great way to spend the day on an educational and exciting day trip! It is free to drive through and tour the Civil War battlefield. There is also tons of places to shop down Baltimore street! If you are into spooky adventures at night, you can catch a ghost tour of the town/battlefield for as low as $8. Gettysburg is said to be one of the most haunted places in America!

There are plenty of state parks to visit as well with COVID protocols. Cowans Gap State Park is located between Chambersburg and McConnellsburg. It has a beach area to relax on hot and sunny days, hiking trails, and boating areas! Bushkill Falls, also known as “Niagara of Pennsylvania”, is another park to visit to see waterfalls, to go fishing, and hiking, as well as Codorus State Park in Heidelberg Pa.

The Strasburg railroad is located is Strasburg PA and the little town is known for its historic railroads and Amish culture. Taking a ride on on the Strasburg Railroad is a great way to see the area while you are on one of the country’s oldest steam trains. Over 100 locomotives and cars are on display in the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania including trains from the mid 19th century.
