Penns Valley Lady Rams 2021 Soccer Season

With all the fall sports seasons coming to an end, the Lady Rams girls soccer team so far has an overall record of 6-9-1 and a league record of 5-7-1 with a 0.41% chance to win. We are ranked 5th out of 8 in our league. In my opinion, I think our team has had a fairly decent season so far. Some of our losses were solely because some of us were having an off day. But when we all played together, we were unstoppable.

This week, the Lady Rams take on Bishop Guilfoyle for the first round of district playoffs. Bishop Guilfoyle, Marauders, have an overall record of 11-6-1 and a league record of 10-5-1, with a 0.64% chance to win. They are currently ranked 6th out of 14 in their league. Although their chance to win might seem higher, the Lady Rams have a good shot at winning this game and moving on to the next.

I interviewed Cate Goodwin, our captain and starting forward, who currently has goals, and asked her what she thought about this year’s season. “I think that we have not been very consistent with our games, but when we do have a good game and we are all on, we have good passes and work well as a team. I am excited to play in districts and win.¨

I also interviewed Ellie Brinker, our other captain and starting midfielder, about what she thinks about the upcoming playoff game. “I am excited. I think it is going to be a tough game but I am ready to beat them. As long as my team gives it their all, I will be proud.¨
