2021-2022 Lady Rams Basketball Season

2021-2022+Lady+Rams+Basketball+Season

With fall sports ending, Winter sports are starting up, including basketball. The Lady Rams have been preparing for this season the past few weeks by having open gyms bright and early on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. To give them some experience together, they are also headed to the Miller Center in Lewisburg YMCA for a shootout.

Last year, the Lady Rams had an overall record of 9-8 and league record of 7-3.  The girls finished third in the mountain league. Overall, it was a pretty good winning season for the Lady Rams and this year will be even better.

Our starting lineup last year consisted of, Kailen Winkelblech; who played a tough attacking guard position, Ann-Marie McMurtrie; who also played a tough guard position with her shots, Katie Romig; who played tough defense on the block as a forward, Leah Beben; who played amazing offense as a forward, and Avery Dinges; who played strong defense and attacking as point guard ran the court. This year, all of the starters will be returning except for Leah Beben who graduated that year, leaving the starting forward spot open for who wants to earn it.

Coach Green will also be returning for his third year as head coach of the team. But this year, a new addition was made to the team. Coach Milner, who has coached junior high for many years, is joining us as the junior varsity coach. With his experience and knowledge of the game, he will be a great help to the team.
