NFL Draft, Winners And Losers

NFL Draft, Winners And Losers

As the 2022 NFL draft unfolded, we got to see one of the most bizarre drafts in modern history. It was a heavy wide receiver and defense draft. There was only one quarterback taken in the first round and that was Kenny Pickett. The first five picks were defense. And, there were a whopping 17 wide receivers taken in the first three rounds. But that’s not what we are here for. We are here for the winners and losers of the draft. The first winner to go over is the Baltimore Ravens. Picking Kyle Hamilton at No. 14 overall was the perfect start for them. Turning Marquise Brown into Tyler Linderbaum was a smart move too. And now with David Ojabo, they are looking strong for this year. Another big winner this year were the New York Jets. Getting an amazing center back Ahmad Gardner following up with one of the best wide receivers in the draft, Garret Wilson all in the first 10 picks. Then with probably the biggest steal in the draft, coming in at No. 26 Jermaine Johnson II, LB, Florida State. They now added one of the most talented pass-rushers in the draft. Now onto the losers. The first one, which is my team and I’m not happy about, the Green Bay Packers. Coming into this we needed some good offensive threats to pair with Aron Rodgers since we traded Davante Adams. The Packers are in desperate need of reinforcements at the wide receiver position. But they decide to go for defense. Now the top three receivers are currently Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb. Each are respectable players, but none are the caliber of a top receiver on a championship contender.
