Volleyball 2021

In 2021 Penns Valley volleyball was ranked 10th in the district. Although the Penns Valley volleyball team had a tough season, they managed to make it to the district. They fought to make it to the finals in the first few rounds of the games. The final set was very close. However, the girls managed to preserver out on top. Altoona High School was in the top two teams for the championship. The top two teams will move on to states and have a fighting chance at a state title. The team was led by Cameron Upcraft who had 13 kills, and Kailen Winkelblech with 9 kills.

The team ended the season with an 8-9 record, putting them in 11th place for the district. In the end, they placed 11th in the district. In Penns Valley history, the volleyball team has only ever made it to the semi-finals of the district playoffs. Their final game was against Bellefonte their home gym which was a night to honor the seniors as they move on to bigger things in life. Senior middle Cammie Upcraft reached her season goal of 500 career kills. Along with that, she broke the Penns Valley career blocking record. Kailen Winkelblech outside hitter also reached 500 career digs. In conclusion, Penns Valley was 11th in the district and made it to the semi-finals.  Cammie Upcraft reached her season goal of 500 kills. She also broke the Penns Valley career blocking record.
