The Grinch is a very touchy subject for some people during the holidays. Some people say that they love the grinch and others say that they don’t like the grinch because he hates Christmas. There are quite a few different interpretations of the grinch in the form of movies. Each one portrays the grinch a little differently than the next. Let’s talk about only two of the Grinch movies., How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Grinch.   

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

In How The Grinch Stole Christmas, a movie that was made in the 2000s, starring Jim Carrey. The Grinch is portrayed as creepy and more rude/ruthless than the other film. Also as seen in this movie the Grinch is feared more by the Whos, who are more aware of how to mean the Grinch is, anytime he goes down to Whoville he has to wear a costume to blend in, so they don’t know that he is there. But at the end of the movie, everyone is very forgiving of him and all in all, he loves Christmas now and everyone loves him. 

The Grinch (2018)

In The Grinch movie which was made in 2018, in animation form, the grinch is not portrayed as creepy as in How The Grinch Stole Christmas. He is seen more on the softer side, but still hates Christmas, and how cheery the Whos are. In the movie, he still does rude things, when visiting Whoville but doesn’t have to be in a costume to hide, because the way the Whos view him in this version s a lot different. He had a different background than in the previous movie. Also in the movie, the way the Grinch looks is a lot more clean and not as homeless looking one could say. But yet again at the end of the movie, the Grinch is touched by the Whos spirit that his heart grows and he returns all the things he stole, and everyone forgives him.
