The Lady Rams worked tremendously throughout their season. From a slow start to the first round of districts.
The Lady Rams on Wednesday, October 25, head to Mansion Park in Altoona to take on the Lady Marauders of Bishop Guilfoyle and hopefully push their way into another district championship.
At 8:15 pm the Lady Rams take the field. The Rams are strong off the bat, pushing their way down the field, Olivia Homan is open and takes a shot but Bishop Guilfolye’s goalkeeper, “Cece” Rumfola, makes a diving stop. The Lady Marauders kept pushing their way down the field then, 10 minutes into the first half Nicole Hawk scored BG’s first goal; making the score 1-0. A couple of minutes later, BG up the score to 2-0. The Lady Rams go into halftime down 4-0 but, still with hopes of making the game close.
Breaking through the half, BG put 2 goals up right away; making the score 6-0. After going up and down the field, BG throws in another goal; making the score now 7-0.
The Rams finally started gaining some momentum when midfielder, Elle Dinges, struck the ball in, finally putting the Rams on the board making the score now 7-1.
Shortly after, BG rushed the ball downfield placing the ball perfectly in the left corner and scoring yet another goal but it was their last of the game.
With 8 minutes left, Scotty Dinges had a perfect shot making the final score 8-2., leaving the Rams devastated as they beat Bishop Guilfoyle in the district championship last year.
The Lady Rams finished their season 8-11. For now, we wish our 6 seniors, Scotty Dinges, Julianna Lovallo, Lily Bockel, Chamiqua Genzel, Evelyn Powell, and Abby Stitzer success with whatever their future holds for them.
Until next year for the Lady Rams!
