LADY RAMS SOCCER – 2018 was a big year for the Penns Valley Lady Rams soccer team. Ending the season with a 13-6 record and the title of “Mountain League Champions” made them a threat for the upcoming 2019 season. The other teams in the league, Bellefonte, Bald Eagle, Central Martinsburg, Phillipsburg Oseola, Tyrone and Huntingdon, are all ready to play against the team to beat. After loosing some key players from the past winning season, the Lady Rams are bringing back even more skill to fight for the continuation of the Mountain League Champion title.

Key varsity players returning to the field for the 2019 season this year is include, Hannah Montminy, Hannah Denger, Cassondra Ulmanic, Melanie Hosterman, Morgan Smith, Katie Martel, Maria Lovallo, Leah Beban, Anna Korman and Kylie Auman. Melanie Hosterman, a right back, states, “This season we are lucky to be having 10 returning letterman from last year. Having this skill return this year will have a huge impact on how the season plays out for our team.”

After having a week long camp, participating in a tournament and conditioning for the the season for 3 weeks, the Lady Rams are ready to dominate on the field. Penns Valley Girls Soccer player of the year Hannah Montminy reflects on the past season and talks about how she thinks the 2019 season will play out, “Last season was a dream year for us Lady Rams. Being able to claim the title of Mountain League Champions was a crazy feeling. Not only did we do that, but we also made it to the semi-finals in districts, which this programs hasn’t done for years. Being able to see what can be accomplished this past season makes it more exciting to see what our team can do this year. In order to have a winning season, we have to play like a team and trust each other, which I am sure will be no challenge.”
