My documentary takes place on Howard Lake in Howard Pa. It follows 3 friends who have a mission to catch a huge fish. The Documentary starts at John’s house where the three friends wake up super early in the morning to get the boat hooked up to the truck and get snacks, drinks, and lures that will last them through the day.
They then set off on their long drive to the lake, around 45 minutes and they are there. The boat gets put into the fog-covered lake and the boys set off. It is very hard to see because of the fog, but the boys do their best to navigate through the waters of Howard lake. They eventually make it to the spot and get their lines wet. After several long hours, they catch their first fish. It was a foul-hooked white crappie that was no longer than 4 inches long, but it was a fish. The boys move spots and the lake begins to clear up. As the sun beats down the boys get hot and shed a layer of clothing. With the sun beating down on their backs they are determined to catch the big fish. Four hours go by, then five then six. Next thing you know the boys are out there all day, changing spots and recording memories, not about the fish they have caught but the good time they are having. After 8 hours on the lake, the boys call it a day and take the boat back to the dock, load it, and drive home. “it was a good time with the boys even though we didn’t catch any fish” Ty Watson says.
