Starting last year 2022 Penns Valley High School got 3 Police Officers. Officer Kent, Officer Eckley, and Officer Hockenberry. The officers are here to protect the students, teachers, and staff. They want to make us feel safe and they are here for emergencies. All 3 officers rotate through the schools; Penns Valley Elementary, Center Hall Elementary, Rebersburg Elementary, and Penns Valley High School. They are all very nice people!
Officer Kent has been a state officer for 26 years and a school resource officer since 2020. He enjoys being a school officer because of the students and teachers here at Penns Valley. Ever since high school he always wanted to be a police officer. Kent says he always looked up to them when seeing them around. He went to college for Criminal Justice then went right into the Police after the Marines.
Officer Kent thinks the hardest part about being a school resource officer is dealing with difficult situations with a student or parent. He helps them get through the tough spots though. He enjoys building relationships with the students and staff. He enjoys being here at Penns Valley High School and thinks everyone is so nice. If you ever get a chance I suggest talking to Officer Kent he is a great positive guy.
The Penns Valley students and staff think the police officers are good to have and feel safe with them here. They show good examples to others and help them with their situations.
If you need to ever contact any of the officers visit the website for their emails!
