Penns Valley FFA is a small club that has a big impact on the community, we do a lot of activities in our club including fruit and cookie dough sales, Ace’s conference, farm show, CDEs, and many more. Currently, in FFA we are making Christmas cards for the old folk’s homes because they may not have a family to spend Christmas with or nobody might come visit them so we want them to have a good Christmas. We just had our fruit and cookie dough sale, and it went well, we sold a lot of fruit and cookie dough which means we raised a lot of money.
On November 16th we had our first round of CDEs and we had a lot of kids participate from different schools including kids from our school. We had kids participating in Ag mechanics, Dairy management, Livestock evulation, and Ag poster. The boys who participated in the Ag mechanics took first place overall in the competition.
In Janurary we will be going to the farm show and there will be three kids in our chapter that will be receiving their jackets during the ceremony they have, there is usually a lot of kids that receive their jackets from all different chapters that are from different schools.
In Feburary we have our Ace’s conference trip which is in Harrisburg, it is a weekend trip and you learn a lot about FFA and what it’s all about. I went two years ago and I learned so much about FFA and the theme was choosing your path in life. FFA is a very fun and important club in this community.
