Have you ever watched a JH basketball game? You do not want to watch Penns Valley because we are not all together at this time. Some people are just learning how to put the ball in the basket and they will get there, so it’s okay. It has been a struggle to get through it since we are just tryna ball. It has been a rough season and we went through it as a team.
I got the chance to interview star player Julian Battaglia and asked him about the season he said, “Hey guys this is the kickoff to the 2023-2024 season. It was a fun season I guess. It was a roller coaster of emotions. We got destroyed and some games are a bit easier. For us to win next year people definitely need to pick up their skill level and how good they are and the only way to do that is with practice practice practice, so see you next year hopefully, and keep working on basketball.”
Another star Aaron had his side of it, “So the start of the 2023-2024 season was very rough. We were absolutely destroyed pretty much every game but I think we started to turn around towards the end but still didn’t win much, but we did pretty solid and yeah it’s about it.”
Another star Rylan had his thoughts on it, “I think our season went very well. It could have gone better if we won a couple more of our games, but very good.”
From my perspective, all of these guys did a great job in getting the team and putting them on their back. It has certainly been a rough season but we got through it and that is all that matters right?
I also got the chance to interview key role player Ben Groy and here are his thoughts on it, “I think that our season went well and sometimes maybe not as well as others but yeah. The team played well and there were some mistakes, but we made it through the season right. For my first season, I was kind of happy with how I played and I had a good time. I had a lot of fun getting to travel, you know getting out of school but yeah.”
For Ben’s first year, he did a great job facilitating for other players such as Liam Bird, and Noah Heverly. He did a good job getting to the rack and scoring.
Next year we will come in with a better mindset and get back to work. It will be a better season next year, we’ve got some youngins coming up to the big school to try to put on a show. These young ones will be ready, but the leaders must keep them working so they are always ready for pressure. If you want to come to the PV JH Boys Basketball game next year would be the year.
