The Asylum Club redubbed their product Asylum Magazine: A Creative Sanctuary on Friday, December 13th. Since the last article about them from October 14th, they have made significant progress setting up for submissions. Namely, they were approved for a monetary grant that would allow them to purchase their books when they finished editing the magazine, and they distributed posters around the school’s hallways while also advertising the magazine in the morning announcements. Now it is time for them to wring in submissions from artistically talented students gradually; paintings, photos, essays, short stories, and song lyrics are only some of the things you can share.
When a fellow member of the Asylum Club, Alice Peters, was asked what she planned to do to encourage the Asylum magazine, she answered, “I’ll be talking to Mrs. Troxell’s 4th block class to see who’s interested.” She also commented on the video created for the announcements to advertise to the students, saying it was clever.
Ms. Momenzadeh and all of Asylum’s participants are now trying their best to get as many people as possible in the magazine, contacting classes like Mrs. Fischer’s, Mr. Baldwin’s, or Mrs. Rummel’s. They also have a few particular individuals in mind to submit entries, so they are reaching out to those shining talents.
In the end, though, the Asylum Club is developing to appeal to more people and encourage expression in this school. If you have anything you want to share with your classmates so they can appreciate you even more, keep an eye out for Ms. Momenzadeh’s e-mails. She regularly puts out reminders that Asylum Club is scrutinizing the campus for people like you.
