The annual Penns Valley senior class Mammy’s donut hole fundraiser has taken place, and the class of 2026 has sold a record-breaking amount of donut holes! (As compared to the last two years of Penns Valley’s Mammy’s donut hole fundraisers.)
This year, the seniors sold 724 DOZEN donut holes to their friends, families, and community!
Curious about some of the other stats? The top-selling donut hole was white cream-powdered, with 183 dozen sales. The least-popular donut hole this year was lemon powder, with only 41 dozen sold. The class of 2026’s top seller was Kody Tressler, with a whopping 85 dozen donut holes sold! (That’s almost 12% of sales!) In total, 49 people in the senior class sold donuts, which makes the record-breaking amount sold even more impressive.
But one more aspect of this fundraiser makes the seniors’ achievement a little more remarkable. This year, they had a competitor. During the seniors’ sale, Mrs. Amy, Penns Valley’s very own FCS teacher, was selling Mammy’s donut holes for Centre Hall Elementary at the same time.
Not only did Mrs. Amy’s donut holes arrive earlier, but they were $8.00 instead of $10.00 a dozen, and she had other flavors not available to buy from the senior class, such as cookies and cream. Mrs. Amy attempted to try to steal sales from the seniors, but fortunately did not succeed, as made evident by the number of sales.
You might be wondering what the Mammy’s donut hole fundraiser is specifically raising money for. Each year, the fundraiser is conducted to help pay for the graduating class’s graduation caps and gowns. The seniors successfully raised over $3,000, more than the class of 2025.
Donut holes arrive today, April 1. Congratulations to the seniors for their impressive sales, and thank you to everyone who purchased donut holes to help the seniors raise money for their graduation.
