This past Friday, our Penns Valley Rams took on the Rams of Richland for the district semi-finals. The boys fought long and hard throughout the entire game but unfortunately, PV fell short with a final score of 49-21. The three touchdowns were scored by Austin Fisher with the first two and Logan Snyder with the final touchdown at the last minute of the game.

Although the team lost, Penns Valley’s quarterback, Aaron Tobias, broke the state single season record for touchdown passes with a total of 54 after his 19 yard pass to Logan Snyder. He beat this record with his 53rd of the season on a 66 yard pass to Austin Fisher.

Aaron explains in an interview after the game, “It’s definitely special. I would’ve much rather had a District 6 medal around my neck. I don’t care about any stat, I would’ve really rather had that.”

Marty Tobias, Aaron’s dad and head coach, agreed that it was upsetting to see the season come to an end, but so proud of how hard the boys played all year. This has been one of the best seasons that Penns Valley has had for a long time, and it was shown through all of the hard work that the players put in all season.

The juniors are very proud of the seniors this year and are expecting similar results next year. Stephen Ripka, a junior wide receiver, says, “I’m super excited to see what’s in store for next season and I hope we can make it even farther into districts.”

All of Penns Valley is beyond proud of the players and all that they have accomplished this year. It’s been exciting to watch them play and to see how well they work together on the field.
