Penns Valley Girls Soccer Takes on Huntington

Penns Valley girls soccer secured a win against Huntington with a final score of 2-0.

This past Saturday at 10:00 am Penns Valley girls soccer went head to head against Huntington girls soccer. The match took place home at Penns Valley and the final score was 2-0, the Penns Valley girls won after a long game. The 80 minute game was long and hot with the weather being 85 degrees. The game started out very evenly matched and both teams worked hard to get the ball up to the top. It was a very tight game and both teams were working hard to make passing connections. The first goal was scored in the first half by Cate Goodwin a senior. The second goal was scored by Cate Goodwin as well and was assisted by Ceci Falls a freshman. There were many close shots on the other end of the field but Penns Valley’s defense held Huntington and goalie for the team, a junior Noelle Web had many spectacular saves.  The Junior Varsity team also secured the win against Huntington with the final score of 1-0.  Anna Bressler scored the goal for the Junior Varsity girls soccer team. Penns Valley Varsity girls soccer has a record of 2-3 so far in the season. Wish the Lady Rams luck as they play Philipsburg Osceola away, Monday September 20th at 4:00 pm. The girls have a strong team this year and are hopeful to make it far this season.
