The Penns Valley boys soccer team started off their 2022 season strong with a tournament win. The boys won the Bald Eagle Tournament (BEA). They played Bellefonte in the first round winning 2-1. Then played Bald Eagle in the finals winning 4-0. Cayden Merrill won allstar mvp, and Kyle Long, Hayden Houser, and Gavin Robb won all-star awards. 

The team had their first loss on Monday, September 12th against Bellefonte. The game ended early due to lightning with a score of 4-2, Bellefonte winning. This was a tough defeat for the team, but they came back strong on Wednesday, September 14th with a  1-0 win against Bald Eagle. 

The boys played on Thursday, September 15th against Mount Union. They crushed their competition with a final score of 10-0. They are very excited about the rest of their season, and can’t wait to see where they will go.

The team is still going strong with a record of 6-1. They are currently number 1 in the District IV ranking. We talked to Cayden Merrill about the team this year. He said, “Our team’s goal this season is winning districts.” He also stated,” The team chemistry this year is way better.” The team is working hard to meet their goal and have a great rest of the season. Go out and support the boys to see them rise to the top!
