Alexis Durn is her name. She is a senior at Penns Valley who has been a part of the girls cross country team for four years. She is also a part of track, Chamber choir, Varsity club, National Honor society, National History day, District choir, and Band. Alexis is one of the many talented athletes here at Penns Valley.

Throughout her running career in high school she has 3 individual district 6 medals along with a first place team win in 2020. With these district medals she was able to make it to STATES all four years. One year she didn’t medal in district but with the time she had, it got her a spot in the state race. She has yet to run in the 2022 state race but in Hersey where the race is held she has accomplished 2 individual medals along with a first place team win in 2020. When ask, how does it feel to be a 4x state qualifier she responds with, “ It feels very crazy and surprising to have gotten this far in just 4 years, I’m thankful for all the people who supported me because I would definitely not be here without them and I am excited for this coming states competition because I get to experience it with my teammates and bond with them even more”. As Alexis and her teammates Lilly Smith and Avya Fetterolf compete in the state championship the Penns Valley community wishes them all good luck.

The 2022 state championship race is on Saturday the 5th. It is held in Hershey at the gold course. The girls race at 11:30 and the boys race at 1:15.
