Penn State Wrestling Closes Out Regular Season

Penn State wrapped up their regular season with a 40-6 win against Clarion this past Sunday on Senior Day at Rec Hall. They finished the regular season with a dual record of 16-0 (8-0 against Big Ten Opponents) with key wins against No. 2 Iowa (23-14), No. 8 Ohio State (29-9), and No. 11 Michigan (30-8). The Nittany Lions are no strangers to having perfect regular season dual records, as this is their sixth perfect regular season in the last seven years. Within the starting lineup the Lions finished the season with eight of ten wrestlers being in the top ten rankings. With the regular season coming to a close the Nittany Lions will now look ahead to the Big Ten tournament that will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan on March 4-5.  It is with no doubt that the Nittany Lions have managed to meet or exceed expectations this season, as they always do. Going into the Big Ten Tournament, the Lions will expect to have four number one seeds, and several top five seeds in the tournament, and the Nittany Lions will be favored to win the team championship for the tournament. It is without denial that the Nittany Lions will be trying to make some noise before heading into the NCAA National tournament, as four of Nittany Lions are returning national champions (Roman Bravo-Young, Carter Starocci, Aaron Brooks, and Max Dean). And it is expected for the national tournament that about four Nittany Lions will have the number one seed. Nationals will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will be on March 16-18.
