On Friday, September 22nd the rams took on Bellefonte Area High School in football and beat them in a close match. That night was very eventful, it was a very fun game the student section carried that night going all out in white and even bringing some baby powder to throw in the air when Penns Valley scored. Penns Valley was really putting in their best effort and were making a comeback.
With their quarterback Jackson Romig throwing the ball to Ty Watson running the ball and scoring they were finally up by one point the score was 20 to 19 and Bellfonte had the ball and had a chance to score a 2-point conversion. Fans were anxiously watching and were hoping Penns Valley could hold the Bellefonte Red Raiders to win the game. Penns Valley held them off and won the game. John Myers quoted “We squeaked out a win”.
Afterward, it was time to see who won homecoming king and queen many people stayed after to see who would be crowned. All the people who were running were great candidates but it came down to the students to vote that day to then see who would be king and queen. Sophie McMurtrie was the runner-up for Homecoming Queen and Lane Ripple was the runner-up for Homecoming King. The winning king and queen are Laney Aston and Trevor Bressler. Congrats to them for winning, and congrats to the runners-up as well. John Myers quoted “We squeaked out a win”.
We barely won but the football boys played hard that night and ran the plays they needed to win the game.
