The students of Penns Valley have very strong opinions on the no phone rule during classes. Last school year the school board decided to not allow students to have their phones with them during class, and that they must remain in their lockers till lunch. Some students didn’t like this rule and thought that we should be allowed to have our phones in class but other students and teachers believed that this was a good rule and had many benefits.
I asked a few people what their opinions were on the rule. An 11th-grade student, Nolan Wolfe said “I feel that the school should allow us to have our phones in case of any family or school emergencies. I think it has helped us to stay more focused in class but I feel like we should still be able to have them on our person because you never know when you might need to contact your family.” Nolan believes that we should have our phones. Then I asked A teacher Mr. Farley on his opinions and he thinks that “it is easier on teachers not having to worry about telling kids to put it away,” but he does think that students should be allowed to have their phones at least during ram. They both have different beliefs on whether or not we should have phones but both of these reasons are fair reasons.
In conclusion, many students at Penns Valley have different beliefs on whether or not we should have our phones or not during school.
