The school year’s end is coming, and spring has sprung in the valley, so end-of-year activities for seniors are beginning rapidly. A student run activity for the seniors, which has quickly become a popular game across the country, is Senior Assassin, a game of water guns and deceit.
The game works like this: each player gets another person playing as their target, which they must eliminate by shooting them with a water gun and capturing the kill via video. After that, basic concept rules vary from school to school based on the admins running the game. Here at Penns Valley, the rules are few and far between. They are as follows: Must video when taking out your person; wear goggles to stay safe; School grounds and church are off limits.
I interviewed a participant, Ashley Whitsel, and asked her how the game was going. She responded, “I think it’s going well, but I haven’t gotten my person yet.” I, too, am playing, and I got my first target yesterday.
The game has only been alive for two days and is already sparking paranoia and a little bit of controversy between the students. Some have reason to believe the game is being manipulated in favor of certain people while ruining the game for others, but for now, that is all talk. The game will continue and hopefully continue to bring fun to our senior class.
