The Olympics have been going on for around 3000 Years Dating back to 776 B.C. and the Modern Olympics have been going on for 126 years. The Olympics got banned 1500 years ago by Emperor Theodus. Baron Pierre de Coubertin was the man to first start the Olympic games. The Olympics first started 126 years ago and took place in Athens, Greece. More than 200 nations with only the most skilled of athletes competing every 4 years in the summer and winter Olympics. Winter Olympics come 2 years after summer and after winter summer happens after 2 more years. The event has a wide variety of sports from golf to skiing.
