Center Hall, PA (PVM)- For years, Snappy’s has been a staple for gas locally. Snappy’s was booming in business until Sheetz was built in 2017. Sheetz has provided a diverse gas option with plenty of food and beverage options as well. Snappy’s decreased in revenue shortly after losing the Subway inside of it. Although it is a sad moment for the community after Snappy’s 20+ of providing gas, food, and beverages, the company is thankful for the relationship it had with the Penns Valley community.
Snappy’s released a statement saying, “For over a quarter of a century, it has been our honor and pleasure to serve this wonderful community. The bonds and memories we have built together are irreplaceable.” This final statement from Snappy’s is a perfect way to reflect the Snappy’s-Penns Valley relationship. A final sendoff from Snappy’s was on September 26, 2023. This consisted of community support, with the purchases of gas, snacks, and beverages. Gas prices at Snappy’s were lowered as well.
The new question amongst the community is “What will replace the space.” There are rumors of a townhouse complex, a Wawa (Sheetz’s biggest competitor), or a Burger King. Any of these businesses will provide more jobs and popularity, as well as more variety of food/gas options. I think the community can’t thank Snappys enough for the memories and services they’ve provided here in the valley, and we’re forever thankful for this.
