The PV carnival happened earlier last week on Tuesday, May 26. PV students got to watch a play and then go outside for the carnival afterwards.
The carnival featured many events, such as games, obstacle courses, and pop-ups from different communities and organizations. The carnival received visits from the Navy, the Air Force, the Army, the Marines, the National Guard, a fire company, EMS, a state trooper, The Meadows, and more. There were also baked clubs available, and in the cafeteria, there were corn dogs, funnel cakes, mozzarella sticks, chips, ice cream, boba tea, and lemonade. Clubs such as the Ski Club, French Club, FFA, the Helping Hands Club, Junior High Student Council, Spanish Club, PV RAMS Care, and Jesus Club.
Inside the school, there was a book sale, Skee Ball, an art show, a reading room, a photo booth, and basketball games. There was also a study hall for any students who needed time to catch up on end-of-the-year work.
One of the highlights of the school carnival for many students was the dunk tank. The dunk tank was outside in front of the softball field, and was a feature of the last two school carnivals. This year, Mr. Romanyshyn, Mr. Baldwin, and Dr. Althouse were a few of the teachers and staff dunked in the tank. For a few tickets, students were allowed three tries at dunking the featured staff member. Tickets were given to students the week prior to dressing up for school spirit days. The tickets could also be bought with PBIS points in the school cafeteria during lunch.
Overall, students rated the carnival as a success, although there has been talk of adjusting plans for next year’s carnival.
