PENNS VALLEY – After being nominated and going through a series of interviews, eight high school senior girls have announced a part of PV’s 2019 Homecoming Court. Of the girls, there is a wide variety of things that they are each involved in, including sports such as, basketball, softball, soccer, swimming, the Penns Valley Marching Band, and many other clubs and extracurriculars. Each girl is highly involved in the school, community, and represent Penns Valley in its best light.

Your Penns Valley Homecoming Court consists of: Abigail Gerhart, Hope Titus, Lydia Boeckel, Ryleigh Cain, Lydia Collison, Hannah Montimy, Elli Stamm, and Hannah Denger.

Although there were hopes to have both Queens and Kings run this year, it remains to be only Queens running for the Homecoming Court. Another change that was made this year was the girls had to be nominated by their fellow senior class rather than being able to nominate themselves. After ten girls had been nominated, they all had to undergo an interview in which only eight of the ten girls were chosen to represent PV on the Homecoming Court as named above.

This year’s homecoming theme is Wizard Of Oz, “There is no place like Home(coming).” Throughout the week, look for the girls wearing their sashes and spirit week attire.  Monday is pajama day, Tuesday is dress fancy day, followed by red shoe Wednesday, twin day Thursday, and blue and white Friday.

The girls will also be pairing up with a senior football player to play some games at the Friday pep rally, decorating classroom doors, and riding in the parade. The girls are very excited and close this year. Elli Stamm says, “I am so excited for the opportunity to participate alongside some of my best friends and create new memories!”

Your Homecoming Court will be scored on their private interview, their participation in spirit week, including dressing up, decorating a door, winning pep rally games, attending the parade, and the student body’s popular vote. Finally, after being judged and voted on by their peers, the winner will be announced at halftime of the Friday night football game against Midd West.

Keep a lookout all week and make sure to vote for who you think should be Penns Valley’s 2019 Homecoming Queen and come out to see who will win on Friday Night.
